Empower Your Body and Mind

I’m Ilka, founder of Art of Exercise.

 

I'm a qualified Pilates instructor and personal trainer with over 20 years of experience helping people move better, recover from injuries, and build long-lasting strength.

 

My passion is simple: Movement is health.

 

I believe that when you move well, everything in life feels easier, whether that’s running after the kids, lifting at work, or playing your favourite sport. My approach is hands-on, supportive, and always tailored to your needs.

 

I work with a wide range of people including tradies, young parents, athletes, retirees, and anyone who is recovering from injury, preventing injury, or simply wanting to maintain mobility and stay active.

 

Every session is about helping you understand your body, feel in control of your movement, and gain the confidence to live life fully.

 

Pilates forms the foundation of my training style. I use its principles of alignment, control, and precision to design sessions that are specific to each individual. Whether you are rebuilding after injury, wanting to improve strength, or maintaining mobility, I create routines that suit your body and your goals. Our studio is equipped with two Pilates reformers, allowing me to provide versatile and effective sessions that challenge you in a safe and supportive way.

1-1 Session 

Reformer Workout

Personalised sessions designed entirely around you. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, aiming to prevent one, or looking to build strength and mobility, these sessions are tailored to your specific needs. Using Pilates principles and equipment, including our two reformers, I’ll guide you through routines that improve movement quality, reduce pain, and build long-term confidence in your body.

2-1 Session

Yoga Class

Train alongside a friend, partner, or family member in a small, supportive environment. These sessions allow you to share the benefits of individualised coaching while still receiving attention to your unique goals. Pilates-based exercises and the reformers are often incorporated to ensure both participants get the most out of their training, whether that’s rebuilding strength, improving posture, or maintaining mobility.

For those who want the flexibility to train at home or on the go, I’m building a growing library of guided sessions. These videos are designed around the same principles I use in the studio: safe, effective Pilates-inspired routines that help you stay strong, mobile, and injury-free. Subscribers will have access to a variety of workouts to suit different goals and levels, so you can continue moving well wherever you are.

**All sessions are 45 minutes and can be delivered in person or online, with a maximum of two people per session. Initial sessions are 1 hour to allow time to discuss any health conditions, understand your goals, and ensure your program is tailored specifically to you.
